A successful although wet and rainy weekend of racing in Wichita Falls.
Riders lined up in steady rain to start high school cycling’s first-ever street sprints. The sprints were hotly contested by all.

Competition is strong after a successful day of racing at Baylor. Racers are trading off wins with no dominate racer running away with all the wins. The team competition for 2nd and beyond is also fierce as Amarillo ISD’s balanced attack of multiple racers in each of the three high school categories is paying off with a large lead in the team standings. Be sure to click over to our ‘race series’ tab to see the results.
As for the MSU races we will have a RR on Saturday and a Crit on Sunday as usual but instead of a TT Saturday afternoon there will be Street Sprints on the MSU campus. These will be done in heats with the top racers from each heat advancing ultimately to the final heat for that category while the others will go on to a ‘consolation heat’ These will be done from a standing start with a holder much like a TT start but the distance will only be something like 200-300 meters. This is sure to be fun and exciting as MSU promises plenty of spectators in a cool atmosphere, plus sprinting is fun anyways. Saturday and Sunday, April 17th and 18th hosted by MSU in Wichita Falls. So, be sure to practice your sprint technique and sprinting from a stand still or near stand still. Remember…go fast…but go in a straight line.

After the first two weekends of the Texas High School Cycling League spring race series we have seen 29 different schools or school districts represented from across the state of Texas and even including Arkansas. We have also seen 54 different individual kids race at least once. Competition is heating up so be sure to click over to our ‘race series’ tab to see the results.
As for the Baylor races we will have a RR and TT on Saturday, April 10th hosted by Baylor. For any and all questions or information please download the race flyer available at the “race series” tab of this website.

N.B.
1. Pre-reg is ENCOURAGED and will be GREATLY appreciated by all promoters. The TT especially needs it in order to properly figure out individual and category start times and spacing.
2. The time change happens at 2:00am Sunday morning so…before going to bed Saturday night change your clocks FORWARD one hour and be on time to your Sunday RR. (The Saturday start times are all in CST while the Sunday times are all in CDT)
3. Hotels/Motels are available in Denton and Frisco… take your pick…
