We have had a great first three weekends and look forward to a record breaking final two weekends April 14/15 in Wichita Falls and May 5/6 in Houston.
All individual weekend and overall results have been updated too and are all posted under the race series tab.
We just finished a great opening weekend of racing to kick off our 6th annual season of High School road racing in Texas. We had 16 more student-athletes than this weekend last year and many new faces & teams were added to our group of excited veteran racers. A fun vibe was in the air throughout the weekend as old friends from different school caught up and got to share the new cycling toys they acquired since last season. The friendly nature, however, did not take away from the fact that in the end everyone was there to race.
The competition was fierce in all three races but in the end Little Rock Catholic from Little Rock, Arkansas came out on top thanks to a balanced attack led by their three racers in Boy’s A. They were the only school to field racers in all four of our scholastic categories: Girls, Boys A, Boys B, and our brand new category Boys C. They will certainly be the team to beat this year.

Erin Carlson (Birdville H.S.) and Zack LaVergne (Little Rock Catholic) emerge as the leaders and stand proud wearing their Texas High School Cycling Leagle leader's jerseys, 1st place medals, and holding one of the unique roubaix trophies.
In the Boy’s A and Girls A categories the individual competition was tight to see who would win the first ever Texas High School Cycling League leader’s jersey for being the leader of the season-long individual overall competition at the end of the weekend. After the roubaix style road race and fast crit Erin Carlson from Birdville high school and Zack LaVergne from Little Rock Catholic earned the jerseys. It’s a good thing they will stand out next weekend while wearing their leader’s jerseys because everyone will be looking to see if they will be able to keep them after round two of races in Dallas.
Find full results as well as information about the other races in the series via our Race Series tab.
Unfortunately several races that were part of our scholastic race series have been canceled. It was beyond our control as the Texas High School Cycling League and as always we do everything we can do to assist race directors in putting on quality events for our student-athletes. Sadly, though, the following events have been canceled and thus will not be part of our 2012 road series.
Fear not, as we will still have 13 races over 5 full weekends of racing.
See you at the races.
